Finally, Berlin!!!

Finally, BERLIN!!!

After all these months staying in Deutschland, I’ve finally been there.

Thanks to Fino and Ari, for hosting and guiding us. Thanks to Chandra and Rudi for guiding us during our second day there. To Chandra, thanks for the treat though. You guys great!

What’s there?

#Historical stuff

— Berlin’s wall, gedächtnisse Kirche, holocaust museum, and so on

Luckily I’ve spent hours in Holocaust museum (the memorial to the murdered jews of Europe). It’s free!! A friend recommended us to go there. There I could see the remains of Jewish and holocaust related. The atmosphere was way too gloomy. You’re not even allowed to shout, using blitz, and so on, due to respecting all the victims. It’s amazing how they respect history. Do we?

Brandenburger tor, you're not yet in Berlin, if you miss this one.

#great Indonesians

#greatest sambal I’ve ever tasted in Germany. Hahaha… I forgot what the Resto’s called. Suddenly miss Indonesia.

#such metropolitan stuff and building

It’s interesting. Part of Berlin is a very historical one, yet another is so-called metropolitan city (It’s so Jakarta alike).

#finest spot to do some photo shoots

#Festival of lights

Yearly event held in Berlin. Yet again, we’re lucky enough arriving at the exact time when this event fell still.

Anyway, it’s also my first time taking trip with mitfahren (just like hitchhiking). I pay for 14 euro to one who drives me to Berlin. The driver is a German. He got a nice and cozy car, but his driving made me a bit dizzy. As I was drove away, it makes me wonder how they could just simply trust everyone getting in their cars. though it’s a good thing to do this kind of stuff. First it’s helping for energy saving, and of course, fewer cars mean less pollution. Guess I am not that brave to do this same stuff in Indonesia, unless I know the driver. :D

Why am I?

ANYWAY. Three days trip in Berlin has been great and interesting. Can’t wait to go back there again some other time.

Rigi Kulm (Lucerne, Switzerland)

on August 14th 2009, I went to the top of Mount Rigi, Rigi Kulm, also named as “Queen of the Mountains”, with the mountainrailway (The first mountainrailway in Europe). Mt. Rigi is part of The Alps. It is situated in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Rigi Kulm (Lucerne, Switzerland) - August 14th 2009

If I take this kind of journey as one of life’s analogy. Attempting to be at the top is might be the purpose, on my way there,  I’ll learn first how to get there, whether to take train, heli, or hiking. Then I’ll meet people. There are things on my left and right. As well as life, all the things I’m going to passing by, can be captured and memorised but some will just go by the way they are. These sort of things, I’d like to name them as : KNOWLEDGE and MEMORIES.

Being on the top doesn’t always mean I’m huge and good. I sometimes need to look down, and realise how small I am actually. As I looked against the nature at that time; I felt nothing but small; I just stood there and thought : “It’s stunningly beautiful, but it’s not mine nor my creation. This nature belongs to God”, so how priceless it will be, if I just instantly go there without having knowledge and memories. These sort of things, I’d like to name them as : GRATITUDE.

My just-a-thought will be, “It doesn’t matter whether I fail or succeed. Because even if I’m on the top, What I have at the time is just not mine. Ultimately I won’t bring them anywhere, what matter is the way I get these knowledge and memories and making life with those. With gratitude I’ll live happily and loveful. “
